CTC in the Community

An Icon: How the CTC will make its mark
An "Icon." That’s how leasing agent Jon Eberle describes the Confluence Technology Center in Chelan County. The $12 million facility stands as a monument to the commitment this community has to supporting the growth of a new and vibrant technology industry.

That level of commitment shines a new light on the region. "The CTC raises our odds in the very highly competitive game of business recruitment. It will result in better-paying jobs for men and women in North Central Washington," says Port of Chelan County Deputy Director Joyce Stewart.

"This is the most ambitious piece of infrastructure the Port has ever invested in."

CTC’s true local value
Where the true value of the CTC will show itself will be in the ways that it betters the lives of the people who call North Central Washington home.

The completion of the Confluence Technology Center means that all its capabilities – the ability to customize training for local workers, to make use a of state-of-the-art video/teleconferencing center, to rely on an ultra-secure colocation facility and professional disaster recovery services – will now be openly accessible to residents, businesses and organizations already living and working in North Central Washington. But more importantly, the CTC is designed to attract new enterprise and, with it, better paying jobs to the region, while simultaneously equipping local citizens to fill those jobs.

Growth that treads lightly on the environment
The growth of technology-oriented businesses promoted by the CTC represents the growth of a clean industry, developing uses in harmony with the beauty of our natural environments in North Central Washington.

"Economic development doesn’t recognize artificial boundaries," says Port of Chelan County Executive Director Mark Urdahl. He predicts that as the CTC begins to realize its true potential, the benefits enjoyed by the local community will soon begin to accrue throughout North Central Washington.
