Discover North Central Washington

Gazing out the panoramic windows from any side of the Confluence Technology Center you find yourself not just at the confluence of the Wenatchee River and the rolling Columbia, but at the nexus of many wonders, all of which combine to create a uniquely enjoyable way of life in the Wenatchee Valley.

  • A semi-arid desert climate that boasts 300 days of sunshine a year merges with an abundance of fresh flowing water, bringing life to the orchards that earned the area its title, Apple Capital of the World, and at the same time providing the community with some of the nation’s most affordable electricity through the hydroelectric projects along the Columbia River.
  • With 67,600 residents, Chelan County is metropolitan enough to play host to its own performing arts center and a thriving artistic community. Wenatchee, the county’s largest city features a modern convention center in the heart of its vibrant, historic downtown. Yet these are still communities small enough to enjoy rallying around favorite events and causes – high school football games, the annual Apple Blossom Festival Grand Parade, and community-building events like Make a Difference Day.
  • Chelan County is both remote and well connected. It is far enough from the state’s major metropolitan areas to escape the crowds, traffic, urban sprawl and skyrocketing property values, yet the region is serviced by five daily flights from Pangborn Memorial Airport and easily accessible by rail, bus or car via major highways.
